About

In a way, this blog has been in the making since I was seven years old and breathlessly lifted my first doll, Kirsten, out of the box on my birthday. I LOVED American Girl and became obsessed with the dolls, clothes, and books. My mom fell in love, too, and immediately started her own collection of dolls. My love for American Girl was maybe a bit different than that of other seven year olds, though, because to me the cornerstone was the books. I loved reading the stories, each set in their own fascinating time in history. I owned the series for every character, even the dolls I didn’t have. My Kirsten books are especially battered from frequent re-reads. Authenticity was always extremely important to me. As a kid, I never dressed Kirsten in Molly’s clothes or vice versa. That still isn’t something I really do and it simply comes down to me wishing to preserve the sanctity of the character’s unique and important identity; of loving history so much that I want to capture and admire it without any imperfections.

This blog is dedicated to just that: my (mainly) historical American Girl collection and the fun things I do with them to complement their stories and personalities. I think American Girl does a great job at teaching girls about history, or, more accurately, herstory. 😉

I am in my 20s and am a middle school teacher. In addition to American Girl dolls, I love reading, art, animals, hiking, camping, teaching and performing music, my dog, my husband, and spending time with my family.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog, feel free to leave me any comments or questions!
