Choosing Halloween Costumes

Molly, Linda, and Susan were having a heated debate about what to be for Halloween.

They discussed the Three Musketeers, Three Blind Mice, and Molly’s personal preference, Cinderella and the ugly stepsisters.

Molly pulled out her binder to record their ideas while Linda argued animatedly against dressing as an ugly stepsister.

Susan, tired of watching her friends bicker, yawned and laid down on Molly’s bed. “You guys decide,” she said. “Just as long as I get to wear a long swishy dress.”

“I’ve got it!” exclaimed Linda. “Susan gave me the idea when she said ‘swishy dress’. We should be hula dancers! We can make the costumes ourselves with materials we already have. We probably wouldn’t have been able to sew brand new costumes anyway. We have to conserve fabric for the soldiers and our mothers are too busy working to help us.”

“That’s brilliant!” said Susan, sitting up.

“I love that idea!” said Molly. “Let’s go downstairs and get started, I think we have just what we need!”

“This is going to be the best Halloween ever! I can’t wait!” chorused the girls.
