Thrifty Thursday: Josefina’s Basket

The basket pictured in front of Sombrita is a super simple, thrifty craft just in time for Josefina’s birthday! My mom made it a few weeks ago upon finding these great packages of braided twine at Wal-Mart. She hot glued it to the inside and outside an empty fruit cup and ta-da! A perfect basket for Josefina. You could use any kind of plastic container to make baskets of varying shapes and sizes. There are different colors and textures of twine, too, so there are many possibilities!

This basket can be handy for Josefina’s kitchen tasks…

…or carrying provisions to to her neighbors on other ranchos.

It could even be a laundry basket! The other basket in the picture below came from a flea market for a quarter.

Sombrita is so helpful. 🙂
